Geological Survey of Northern Ireland
The Geological Survey of Northern Ireland is an office of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment of Northern Ireland. GSNI provides geological advice to government and industry, particularly with regard to planning, administration of mineral and hydrocarbon exploration, environment and hydrogeology, and landscape management. GSNI produces, and is continually updating, bedrock and superficial geological maps and maintains extensive digital datasets of geology, boreholes, geochemistry and geophysics. Maps@
Only recently launched into the geospatial world, Maps@ is the new name in dynamic licence and map data management solutions. Many organisations have struggled with the task of managing multiple geospatial data sets and the complex licensing that goes with them. Similarly, many data providers want to protect their IPR and minimise copyright infringements. Maps@ offers a range of software solution which simplify and automate this process, leaving the data user free to get on with what they do best and reassuring the provider that their data is being used within their licence terms.
Initial installations of Maps@ have focused on the new Multi-Client Contractor Licence, recently issued by Ordnance Survey in Great Britain and as such Maps@ consultants have developed a substantial background of experience in this field.
